God Knows Us

It can be easy to turn from God, well, at least who we’ve made him to be. We want God to do what we want. So, instead of trying to learn more about who he is, we try to put him in a box and look at him like a Jeanie who will make our every wish appear.

  1. God knows you completely

He sees who you are when nobody sees. You are not alone. He’s the footprints in the sand. We think we were walking alone, but they are His footprints. He was carrying us.

God knows everything about me. But, do I know Him or have I given up on the fundamental messages that I’ve read about Him in the Bible.

2. God loves you

The Church puts the godly on a pedestal, but when they falter in some way, we are immediately criticizing them and want to drop them.

God knows our hearts even if we don’t speak it out loud.

God understands insecurity. We’re looking for value, but we never get to the point that we want what God wants. God loves you even when you make mistakes. Just as we need to do with others.

Are we seeing the fruits in our lives? In the lives of those around us? That’s what God is concerned about.

3. God is with you always.

There is never a time that you are alone. He is always there and you can talk to him any time. You don’t have to use fancy language. He understands plain English just fine. There is no place that you can escape his presence. God is the footprints, but sometimes all we see is what’s left when He drags us through the sand because we’re too stubborn to listen to his guidance!

4. God takes care of you.

He guides you and holds you fast. So often we struggle against God. We don’t understand his ways. His wisdom is beyond anything we can grasp. Where He leads you, be sure to follow Him.

5. God knows your story before it happens.

Do we believe in the dark times, that God was around?

Think about this: we are called to be God’s hands and feet. Have you seen God in those who have come around you in times of need and in celebration? If He hasn’t been there, the church has failed, not God.

Have you been nudged to help someone out, but something you’d rather do came along? Someone ignored God’s nudge.

We have to be the hands and feet of God to the hurting world around us. Open your eyes and ears and see who God needs you to come alongside. Open your ears to hear God urging you to be his hands and feet. What has he put on your heart? That’s where he wants you to serve.

This blog post is my takeaway from my pastor’s sermon from 5/19/24 at Milan Christian Church. Do you some place to worship on Sunday mornings? Join us or check out our website at milan church dot org.
