Do you make sure to include God when your life gets busy? Even when I think I’m following God’s lead, sometimes I find that I’ve hi jacked what He meant for one thing, I’ve mistaken it for something else.
God has led me into serving His church and His community, but then I felt like I was the one who was supposed to do it, He corrected me. It wasn’t about me at all. It was how others could find their place in what He was doing in our church and our community!
I haven’t been writing on this blog for almost a year because I got busy doing God’s work. But, I realize I wasn’t listening when He told me to rest. So, He made it so that I had to slow down! On 11/25/25 I realized I couldn’t see clearly out of my right eye. Long story short, I had surgery to correct a detached retina. This is a tough recovery. Not painful, just boring! So many things I couldn’t do in the very beginning! Don’t bend down, don’t lay flat on your back, sit with your head in a special foam box looking at the floor for 50 minutes of every waking hour. Sleep on your left side only, turn your nose toward your pillow so your eye is facing the floor.
3 days of that and drops in my eye several times a day.
What all this means for me is that I’ve had to rest because I can’t do much else! I thought I was going to lead worship yesterday, but we had snow and church was cancelled. Until God releases me from all these restrictions, I’m going to spend my time seeking Him.
