My Story

When I look around me I see a world created by God. Since my retirement from teaching after 36 years in the public education system, I’ve had more time to enjoy the things God has laid out before me. I began a new thing, just as our Father has done.

I’d already begun playing on our worship team several years before. But a few months after retirement, COVID hit and the world seemed like it was coming to an end. Forced into seclusion, my husband and I ate all our meals at home and began enjoying time walking outdoors. I missed serving at church and the people I’d become used to seeing every Sunday. As I had lots of time on my hands, it was suggested that I learn to play a new instrument. I’d been playing bass guitar so the obvious choice was to pick up my acoustic and hone my skills on it. Six months later, I found myself leading each Sunday morning by myself as we sang worship and praise songs. It’s been a crazy ride, but God is in control and he’s been faithful in every way!

Another thing that I committed to after retirement was to put up a bird feeder. I found myself standing at the kitchen window often, just looking at all the birds that were coming to visit. Soon, I added more feeders and began taking pictures of each new bird I saw. It reminds me of Matthew 6:26-27.

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

Matthew 6:26-27

Every time I see a bird, I’m reminded of His faithfulness and how much he loves us.

Feel free to read my blog. It’s full of scripture references, the nuggets of wisdom I glean from my pastor’s sermons and things God puts on my heart. May God use this blog to reach out to each of you with exactly what you need at the moment.

In Faith,

Pam
