Recommended Resources

I love to read books, blogs, webpages, and devotionals that will help me in my walk with Christ. I have run across some great resources that I want to share with you, so read on!

I’ve been reading several books on leading worship recently. Holy Roar by Chris Tomlin and Darren Whitehead is the one I’m reading currently. It’s an easy read, but so full of great insight into the seven Hebrew words that mean praise and how they can relate to the worship in our churches and homes now. Great read!

One of my favorite Facebook Groups is Women in Small Churches. It’s a great place to share ideas, concerns, and ways to grow in your relationship with others in the church. You’ll find ideas for all areas of the church including worship ministry, children’s education, women’s ministry, youth group, Bible study resources, tips for personal growth, and much more! Check it out here!

Need worship ministry ideas? Look into some of the following websites for brushing up on instrumental skills, tutorials for worship songs, tips for leading worship and growing your team! You’ll find videos on leading worship, tutorials for playing acoustic, or lead guitar, and tips for building your praise team and how to be a leader with a heart for God. At Worship Artistry you’ll find great tutorials for acoustic, lead, and bass guitar. They also have lessons for drums and keyboard. Some lessons are free and they have a paid membership if you want more of the available content. Charmaine Brown offers a lot of free videos for many popular worship songs today. If you’re looking to learn how to sing harmony parts, she has great tutorials available for free. If you’re looking for a vocal coach, Charmaine has lessons available with a membership fee as well.

My church’s website contains the recent sermons by our pastor, Jon Porter. Follow this link to check out his sermons. Milan Christian Church has been our church family for the past 13 years or so. We have grown to love the people here and strive to reach others who need to meet Jesus and learn the message and promise of the gospel.

I use photos from Pixabay for my graphics often. It’s a great free site with quality photos.
