Bringing Life Into Focus

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Today is a new day and I’m looking through my lens with new perspective. Yesterday was a really rough day. Well, to be honest, it’s been a rough week for most everybody on the planet. But today, I’m looking at things more clearly. When we walk through the valleys in life, sometimes we stumble and lose our balance.

But this morning, I’m turning toward the light and I’m not going to allow Satan to blow out the light that’s piercing through the darkness.

The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.

I know life isn’t going to be normal. It may never be the same again. The promises of God have to propel us forward instead of knocking us down. We sing this song at church, There’s Nothing That Our God Can’t Do by Passion. It reminds me that I just have to pray and God calms the storm around me, the darkness has to retreat. It may be here for a while, but I know that He can do anything. I need to continue to stay in the Word and pray that this veil of darkness covering our land will be pulled back and God’s goodness revealed.

Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

Exodus 34:14

For far too long we’ve turned our backs on Him, choosing to bow down to other idols in our lives. It may be money, power, sex, drugs, anger, shame, or sports. Any number of things can take us away from the Father who created us and everything in this world. Whatever we pour our time and our money into is where our hearts are. And that is the idol we worship.

Ask Him to search your heart and show you what it is that is causing you to stumble. The key is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s not about religion at all. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment of all was, he said,

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:’Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Matthew 22:37-39

We’re going to come out of this pandemic better than we went into it. I believe that with all my heart and soul, because I serve a big god! He is where I put my faith and my hope.

Praying for all of you out there who are scared and facing dire situations. Keep the faith. It’s all going to turn out okay in the end.

In Faith,

Pam
