Don’t Become Lukewarm

I enjoy my morning coffee or tea to be piping hot…Image by Craig Melville from Pixabay

How do you like your morning cup of hot beverage? Surely, that’s how you want it, right? If I let mine sit too long and it cools off, I have to add more to warm it back up. If it’s supposed to be hot, I want it hot!

This thought has been on my mind for awhile. Since we’ve not been able to gather as we normally do in our churches during this pandemic, what have you been doing with your time? Do you use that time to watch your church’s service online or use that time to study the Bible?

I think we need to be very careful during this time that we don’t slip into a pattern of being lax when it comes to worshiping and serving the Lord. Once we shift our routines, it’s very hard to get back into it.

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold not hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm -neither hot nor cold -I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Revelation 3:15-16

I’m not judging anyone. I just know that during a time of my life when I’d miss a couple of Sundays, it was really hard to make myself go. But when you’re in the habit, you just get up and go because you’re in the habit of going to church on Sunday. It’s what you do.

Your church may be open now or not. But don’t let your guard down. You don’t want to let yourself slip into a lukewarm phase in your life. Lean into God during this time, remembering the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for you.

That is all…

In Faith,

Pam
